WHO WE ARE
The UPROAR initiative is being coordinated by Small Media, in collaboration with a coalition of digital rights organisations working internationally.
Small Media is a London-based NGO working to support freedom of expression and freedom of information in closed societies globally.
Our multidisciplinary team of researchers, designers and developers supports networks of activists and advocates to work creatively, effectively, and safely.
CIPESA is a Kampala-based digital rights NGO that undertakes research and engages in policy advocacy to support digital rights and encourage ICT development across Eastern and Southern Africa.
As part of the UPROAR coalition, CIPESA works with digital rights organisations across our target countries to document human rights violations and identify areas where support is most needed.
DATA4CHAN.GE (D4C) is a London-based non-profit that connects civil society organisations with global creatives working in data and design to forge real change. Since 2014 nearly 200 people from more than 40 countries have attended our workshops in London, Beirut and Kampala.
Under UPROAR, D4C will be working with Small Media and CIPESA to deliver a series of exciting data-driven, design-led workshops to help digital rights groups tell compelling stories and bring about meaningful change.
